Introduction

Agricultural Engineering plays a very important role in increasing production and productivity of Agricultural crops, thereby, increasing the income of farmers. Also, timeliness of farm operation through efficient agricultural implements and machinery as well as appropriate land and water management activities along with efficient post-harvest technology and processing as well as efficient energy utilization are the important areas in which Agricultural Engineering profession has been playing major role.

Satpuda Education Society runs The “College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology (CAE&T)” which is located in Jalgaon (Jamod) and affiliated to Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth (Dr. PDKV), Akola. CAET is situated at Jalgaon (Jamod) at a distance of 32 km from National Highway No.6 and is 32 km from the Railway Station of Nandura and 2 km from the Bus Stand of Jalgaon (Jamod). Distance between Jalgaon (Jamod) and Shegaon (The popular Religious Place in Vidarbha Region, Samadhi of Saint Gajanan Maharaj) is 40 kms only. The College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology was established in 2006 with an intake of 40 students then in 2012 intake is increased by University and it becomes 80. We are Pioneer of Agricultural Engineers in Vidarbha Region as we are the only Private Institution for this Course in whole Vidarbha. The syllabi and the curricula were updated as per Fifth Deans’ Committee recommendations to address the future challenges and recent developments, more emphasis on basic course of agricultural Engineering for increased exposure of the student to the problems and practices of agricultural fields and inclusion of special courses on communication skills and personality development for increased employability of the graduating students. In the design of the course curriculum, a great emphasis is laid on the practical aspect, project work, practical training and learning by doing.

Graduate program leading to a degree in B.Tech. (Agri. Engg.). Duration of the program is 4 years.Academic Programs (Under Graduate Programme):

Common rules and regulations for admission to various degree programmes in State Agricultural Universities have been formulated by MCAER, Pune. B.Tech. (Agril. Engg.) degree course comprises 8 semesters with credit load of 183 including 25 credits for In-plant Training during 8th semester. In addition to these four non countable credits are also to be completed. Eligibility for the admission to this course is XII standard science passed in 10+2 pattern from Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

B.Tech Agricultural Engineering
